ABOUT JULIE MAR DESIGNS
=======================
Jim & I live in New Jersey with our three teenagers. I have a passion for needlepoint and beautiful art. Last year we learned Julie Thompson was selling her business and decided to purchase it. To me, Julie's needlepoint seemed the perfect marriage of the two art forms. Since then I have spoken with many of you on the phone, and met others at the January 2009 trade show. I have appreciated all the assistance and encouragement on my new endeavor.

WORK IN PROGRESS
================
At last January's trade show I brought my TAPESTRY GERBERS piece which had not yet been completed. I decided to do the piece predominantly in Kreinik threads and Silk Ribbons. TAPESTRY GERBERS is a 14 x 14 canvas and the 5th of 6 in a series of beautiful floral bouquets by Julie Thompson. The finished piece can be seen at the January Trade show, and will soon be on our website. I'm also selling a thread & stitch guide with the purchases.

I am now working on several new designs. Come to the trade show to see which one I'll bring.

NEW DESIGNS
===========
Although young, my girls share my love for needlepoint. They've been asking me to come up with designs which are fun for them to stitch.

Thus, I was inspired to create a new line: TRANSITIONS. TRANSITIONS will be debuting at the January 2010 show. You'll find a 14 x 14 piece that marries both the beautiful Julie Mar florals with more modern lines. Look for our ad in the TNNA January 2010 Show Directory.

TRANSITIONS is meant to appeal to the traditional needlepointer who likes to do some fun pieces. We have cuff bracelets, belts & headbands for the children, purses and dolls, as well as traditional canvases ranging from 5 x 5 to 14 x 14. Your children and grandchildren will love them, mine do. And, they're fun to stitch and wear.

Of course, we haven't forgotten our loyal customers who can't do without Julie's flowers and landscapes. Julie is still painting and has done several new designs which will also be at the show.

CLASS PIECE
===========
I have been taking classes at my local needlepoint shop for many years. Not only do I enjoy doing pieces which present different forms of art, learning new stitches, and using new threads, but I love the camaraderie of stitching in a friendly environment with others who share a love of needlepoint. I thus decided to offer a class piece every year.

This year I'm offering two pieces, both new designs: POPPY BOUQUET and FLORAL SURPRISE.

FLORAL SURPRISE is one of my new TRANSITION pieces. It is 8 x 8 and predominantly done in Silk & Ivory. It can be stitched by the advanced beginner. I’ve also added a "surprise" to my piece which can be seen at the show. The "surprise" element is for the more advanced stitcher, but the stitch guide has both.

POPPY BOUQUET is Julie Thompson's latest floral design which brings out the best elements in the TAPESTRY SERIES as well as the SUNNY POPPIES piece. This piece is for the more advanced needlepointer and can be done in either 18 or 13 mono canvas.

Come see the stitched pieces at the show & ask about discount prices for classes.
